About TTAC21

TTAC21 is a research network looking at Technology, Terrorism and Armed conflict in the 21st Century. We are interested in the cutting edge developments happening in technology, terrorism and armed conflict, both as individual subjects and as wider, more holistic subject area.

We began as a group of doctoral students in the North West of England covering subjects from law, politics, philosophy, literature, and arts. However, we now welcome academics, post-doctoral researchers, some masters students, and some independent researchers from across the world and from a variety of subject areas.

The network mostly takes the form of an online reading group, a few readings, questions, or pieces of interest are sent out each month for members to write short comments on. These are then collected and published on the website. As academia is a busy field to work in, there are no obligations to comment on everything.

Members are welcome, indeed encouraged, to propose potential pieces of interest, whether individual piece,s or as part of a larger themed series of pieces. They are also welcome to write blog posts, or create other forms of discussion. We also have had a number of face-to-face discussions between members in person, and via Skype. If you would like to take part in these, just let us know.

If you would like to join, please feel free to get in contact with us via email. Just send us a short introduction about yourself and your research interests to: admin@ttac21.net

Initial funding for the network was provided by North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership. We thank them for their faith in the project.
